What’s Up in Upper Township

Community Heart and Soul Introduction

The Community Heart & Soul Program is a resident-driven process that engages the entire population of a town in identifying what
they love most about their community, what future they want for it, and how to achieve it. Developed and field-tested over a decade in partnership with over 90 small cities and towns across America, Community Heart & Soul is a proven process for engaging a community in shaping its future. The UTBA is hosting a Discussion Roundtable for the Township of Upper on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at 8:30 am, for a one hour Zoom meeting to discuss interest in the Community Heart and Soul (CHS) process for our Township. This virtual session will be hosted by the Board of the Upper Twp. Business Association in conjunction with the Upper Twp. Green Team. This is an opportunity to dive into the Community Heart and Soul process, ask questions, discuss approaches, and brainstorm ideas with guidance from a CHS facilitator and fellow members of the
UTBA and the public.

4th of July Celebrations Are On!

The UTBA has been informed that the Upper Township 4th of July celebration is ON, and our members have the first shot at being a vendor – a food vendor or a business table – FREE of charge.

The event will begin at Noon on Sunday, July 4th until the fireworks to provide more exposure to our local businesses, and provide a fun community event for all.

This is a great opportunity to get in front of thousands of local families. If interested, reply to this email, or contact:

UTBA’s Beautification Project is moving forward!

The Upper Township Committee approved our project at the 5.24.21 committee meeting and are enthusiastic about working with us to make Upper more inviting.

Phase 1 of the plan is to install 4 planters at each of the 3 town centers identified in the township’s Master Plan:  Marmora, Seaville and Tuckahoe. The UTBA will supply the planters, and the township staff will maintain them.

We’re happy to partner with the Township to bring this beautification effort to our residents, visitors and shoppers. Stay tuned for more!
